Founded in 2020, in Chicago, the mission of Barrio Blues Press is to elevate the voices of emerging writers and to help build a cooperative society. Visionaries for a better world will be given a voice through the press. Beginning with Nation: A Poetry Book by Penned in the City (for the Chicago Freedom School); to Unity: Volume 1: A Magical Realism Anthology, an anthology of international writers, poets, and artists, aimed at raising money for Doctors Without Borders; to Wolf Trek: A Post-Apocalyptic Werewolf Novelette's; to free-forever books for young and seasoned readers: Barrio Blues Press began its mission, summer 2020 and continues to thrive.
We are elated to have our second author, John Drudge, poet and M.M.A. coach, signed on with Barrio Blues Press with his poetry collection, Sojourns. This work is simply amazing and captures the spirit of global travels in a fresh way.
It will be available for pre-order on Amazon from February 23 to March 9th. In the near future, you can order it here: bit.ly/SojournsPreOrder. In these ways, Barrio Blues Press will fulfill its mission and grow its scope. We are grateful for all the artists, authors, and volunteers who contribute to the press and for readers like you. ¡Gracias de todo corazón!
“Sojourns is a superb poetry collection by John Drudge, one of Canada’s greatest living poets.” -Strider Marcus Jones – Poet/Editor of Lothlorien Poetry Journal
