Given the editor's, my increased activism both in the community and Union, where I am an active steward, book production will occur during the summer, beginning mid-May. I apologize for any inconvenience, but this restriction is the reality.
There will be pre-releases of all books and virtual events. These will be announced in Penned in the City and Unity Anthology Contributors' FB group. What's new? The Unity editorial board is working hard on editing Unity, Volume 2: A Speculative Anthology. (Thank you, radical editorial board!) I am hoping to have the book done, before Christmas.
In addition, this month, I hope to finalize Nightmare with a Twist! The fabulous Joseph Sale, a fantastic author and editor in his own rights, is copyediting the manuscript now and will go over it again. As an editor, I couldn't be happier with the quality of submissions! Thank you. Submissions: Open through September 2021 (This is an extension from the original May 1 deadline.) Penned in the City: You must be a member of Penned in the City: A Creative Writing Group for All or be invited by the Editor in Chief, M. Jesú Estrada, to submit your work. Penned in the City members will be given priority. You can join the Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/204660916823940. Genre: Speculative Art, Poetry, & Fiction Theme: UNITY. Together we are stronger! Whether the tone be comedic, romantic, or dark, we are not looking for a blatant moral of the story; it is up to you how you work the theme. Works that speak towards the transformation of our world to a better one are preferred. The Editorial Board Will Accept: Fiction, Poetry, Art, and Photography. *You can submit two works per category, for a maximum of six submissions.* Reprints: Yes, if rights have reverted.
